SpeakApps workshop at the CALL-PL conference in Warsaw

The second edition of the PL_CALL conference was held on 5-6th June in Warsaw at the University of Social Sciences. Its main theme was Building Bridges Between School and Academia. We were happy to present SpeakApps during the first day of the conference by providing the workshop “New tools – new possibilities! Designing tasks for practicing oral skills through the SpeakApps Open Educational Resources”. The workshop was conducted by Adriana Prizel-Kania from the Jagiellonian University.

The purpose of the workshop was to present the SpeakApps tools and Open Educational Resources. In the first part of the workshop, all the participants were encouraged to try the tools as students and express their opinions about the possibilities of using the tools in their own context of teaching. An important part will be devoted to the use of the Open Educational Resources for creating and sharing tasks for speaking practice. The SpeakApps Open Educational Resource (OER), acted as a central role for participants to access resources and participate in the SpeakApps community. 24 participants took part in the workshop – mainly language teachers working at the different universities in Poland and researches in the field of computer assisted language learning and teaching. More about the conference can be found at http://pl-call.pl/2014-conference-programme-en/
