Web SpeakApps

We are running a SpeakApps online training MOOC for language teachers interested in teaching oral production and speaking interaction online. Participation is free.

Take part in the SpeakApps November-December 2015 MOOC and:

• Learn how to use the SpeakApps Tools which are designed to help students to speak and learn languages online
• Design, create and share learning tasks which can be used with the SpeakApps and also with other similar tools, so as to facilitate oral language production and interaction in your learning contexts and language(s)
• Participate in an online community where tasks are shared and openly available through the SpeakApps Open Educational Resource (OER)
• Gain a SpeakApps Certificate in Online Oral Language Teaching and Learning

MOOC Details and Information

• 9th November – 4th December, 2015
• Course instruction in English
• Free to register and participate
• Addressed to language teachers and anyone interested in language teaching
• Participation will involve up to three hours online each week and will include learning activities to complete in your own time or as part of a small group.

Contents and Timetable

Week 1 (9/11 – 15/11): Introduction to the videoblogging tool (Langblog) to practise oral production

Week 2 (16/11 – 22/11): Task design for Langblog, and introduction to Tandem, the content-management tool for speaking interaction

Week 3 (23/11 – 29/11): Task design for Tandem (in the SpeakApps OER)

Week 4 (30/11 – 4/12): Reflection, feedback and application to own contexts
