Personal and shared spaces of language learning

In 2006, Lankshear and Knobel introduced two mindsets and stated that according to mindset 2, which is typical for the contemporary knowledge society, a space is perceived as open, continuous and fluid. Thus, the emergence of digital technologies and changing mindsets are also challenging language educators to rethink how to design for learning in an open world.

Eurocall and the benefits of sharing in education

bolognaOn March 29th, the University of Bologna (Italy) will welcome the participants of a new edition of the Eurocall CMC & Teacher Education SIGs Annual Workshop. This year’s conference motto is Learning Through Sharing: Open Resources, Open Practices, Open Communication. Openness, and its adoption in language teaching and learning, will thus be the central discussion topic of the 2012 Eurocall.
